Ang Lee has directed films that have so much FEELING. I always thought the person was a woman, Anne Lee, because how could a man, an apparently East Asian man, be sensitive enough to direct such a masterpiece of sensuality as Brokeback Mountain?
Met him at his son’s cello recital. I was in fifth grade and way too shy to go talk to him so my younger brother got a picture with him instead. He seems incredibly down to earth. I’ve always admired his directing, esp in his versatility, but I’ve heard he’s an amazing person as well.
He was influenced by the Confucianism,so we can find his movies almost have the same style with his character, and that’s the Chinese tranditional character.
He is the King of Asian movie-maker! With strong influence from e 70s taiwanese love movies, its no wonder he’s so good in directing “Brokeback Mountain” :)
his works are always compelling and profound. he seems like a very intelligent, determined and creative individual. and he’s not afraid of difficult themes in his movies. i loved his latest movie ‘brokeback mountain’!
