I don’t really need to meet him, but I am curious about curious about what kind of mind came up with all those interesting things in his short stories and novels.
I guess I’d want to know what kind of outlook would Mr. Egan run.
Why I want to meet Greg Egan
Possibly my favorite speculative fiction writer. He has delved more deeply into the concept of identity in a post-human world than any author I can think of. Heady stuff to be sure.
What if You could run your personality on something OTHER than the wetware you were born with. Do you need to be “born” of a womb to be human?
If you could download yourself to another substrate, then what would slowing down your clockrate seem like (subjectively and objectively), what about multiple copies of “you”, reintegration of multiples? The list goes on and on.
Can’t wait for the NEXT book:)
