John Bonham was a drummer that did something that was considered out of the box as far as percussion goes. Nobody, at that time, had his finese or playing style when it came to rock.
He was a Neanderthal, a giant in every sense of the word; I mean, some were actually AFRAID of letting the Bonzo sit at their drums, because they thought he might smash them to pieces… I’d like to reincarnate as his bass foot.
