Nellie Bly (placeholder)

An intrepid journalist, champion of the downtrodden, she forged a place for women in journalism at a time when men were in charge and women stayed at home. Oh – she also topped Phileas Fogg’s around-the-world in eighty days. It only took Nellie 72. But, the absolute best marker of her spunk was in her first newpaper assignment in NYC to go undercover investigating abuses at an insane asylum. So she was pronounced insane and thrown behind the unmerciful bolts of that madhouse…only to emmerge even stronger and more respected. HooooHA Nellie!

A story about Nellie Bly

When I first started getting into journalism, Nellie Bly was like, the ultimate role model for me. She constantly went out of her way just to get the story for her public. She stuck to all of the journalism rules, and stuck up for her sources like no other journalist ive ever met.
i wish she were still alive..
she got me motivated and touched like nothing else.
