How I met Sigur Rós
Well one of the guys is my cousin’s boyfriend.
Both he and she are really sweet people. She’s also in Amiina, a band that’s been working with and supporting Sigur Rós.
I’ve also seen Sigur Rós a couple of times on stage – they are pretty amazing
Why I admire Sigur Rós
I saw them in LA maybe 6 years ago & I was so inspired. You can write or imagine your own story with their music. it is breathtaking.
How I met Sigur Rós
I have seen them play 4 times. The second time was at the Wiltern in Los Angels. After the show, they never played encores, I was leaving out a back side door and it ran along the back of the Hall. POW! There was Bjorn? the drummer smoking like a fiend with some folks and we said hello! and I told him how much I loved the Band. He probably didn’t understand a word I said. But he knew.
Why I want to meet Sigur Rós
I want to tell them that I get it… I understand what it is they are singing/ playing. And then I want to ask them how they can be so young and understand so much, universally and cosmically speaking.
WHY I ADMIRE SIGUR ROS:
After their first domestic release came out here in the US, I recall reading a review in ROLLING STONE that said, “If heaven has a house band, it is Sigur Ros.” EXACTLY.
They play the animus universalis and Jonsi knows how to sing like an angel of compassion, like a Boddhisatva here to cry with humanity and hold us…
Why I admire Sigur Rós
Their music is absolutely amazing. If music is a ‘univseral language’ – they definitally wrote the book on it.
