Why I admire Jeffrey Buttle
Well, the story of why i admire Jeffrey Buttle starts on the first day i saw him on tv, i dont remember well but i guess it was in skate canada 2005. So he was there and i said, “oh sure hes one more of all them…” (he was not skating yet) , but when his program started i remember myself being open-mouthed, and thinkin “wait, this guy is not like the others” Yeah, i was really hypnotzed by his talent, his great skating, and by his hability to express too much when skating, he was definitively talented.
Since that day, i really liked ice skating (i already liked it but since that day i took it seriously), i started learning a lot of moves (hey, just the names, in my country is difficult to get ice), since that day i started to tell my friends to watch every figure skating event (now, they like ice skating too), and since that day i became a big jeffrey buttle fan too. What i think make him different of all the other figure skaters, is the fact that he´s not just a great skater, he is also talented, i mean, you see him skating, and you can say, he really is jeff buttle, no one else skates like him, feeling the music of his program, you can say, he really enjoys skating, he really likes doing it.
Later, i discovered he consider himself an “effort-person” in his words, well, for me he is a talent, but knowing the “effort” part of him, let me know he really fights for what he wants, and most of the things he reached, were reached whit perseverance. I still think he is a talent, but knowing that part of him, makes me admire him even more.
