His cousin lived in the neighborhood where I grew up. Our family attended their yearly, huge Christmas parties.. sometimes PN and JW would show up and try to converse with people, who would get all flustered and nervous, and then later talk about how cool it was to talk to them. When I say “people,” I mean my mom. :)

Paul Newman is a great humanitarian & example to us all. I’d like to meet him to just sit back & talk about world issues & ideas he has for making the world a better place.
I’d just like to say how much I admire the film roles they did and there ability to be normal… and yet stay so talented.
i met paul and joanne at a gala benefit for the hole in the wall gang camp—many years ago.
there was an amazing buffet opening night, but the first round was running out of food.
i went up for thirds at the same time as paul.
we reached the fried chicken almost at the same time, but i was just slightly faster.
faster enough, that is, to get the very last piece before he could.
mua ha ha ha ha!
he kinda laughed, realizing that i had rushed to beat him there, i said, “thanks for the lemonade”, and i walked back to my table, feeling very smarmy.
