Why I want to meet John Malkovich
While studying Post-Modern drama back in the 80s, my professor had the good sense to recognize John’s preternatural gifts from his performance of Shepard’s “True West”, which remains among my most watched, shared and enjoyed performances…anywhere. Nearly every actor worth his salt today would probably admit to his influence were they pressed. Jim Carrey, Jack Black, Nick Cage, Richard Perle…well maybe not Richard Perle.
Subsequent performances, like Salesman, Les Liasons, etc. have sealed his fate as America’s premiere male actress.
Long live John Malkovich…and Lee.
