Born Kathryn Ann Sackhoff 8 April 1980 in Portland, Oregon, USA to Dennis & Mary Sackhoff. Dennis is a land developer, Mary is a coordinator for an English as a Second Language program. Katee has an older brother and a dog named Meatball.
She graduated from Sunset High School in Portland in 1998. She has had roles in films such as Halloween: Resurrection, and the television program The Education of Max Bickford and television guest appearances on American television programs such as ER and Cold Case.
She currently stars as Captain Kara “Starbuck” Thrace on the Sci Fi Channel television program Battlestar Galactica.
Currently she has 3 tattoos:
1) On the back of her neck is a japanese kana symbol for ‘choice’ which is rarely seen in the series and one of the reasons she grew her hair longer between the mini-series and Season 2.
2) She has another tattoo on her back that is covered by large bandages which can be seen in the episode “The Farm”,
3) She has one tattoo on her right forearm that partially reads “fiscalia” which translates to ‘office of the public prosecutor’ in Spanish. In short form it means protection but in other languages such as Latin it could mean property. This tattoo can be viewed in the Season 1 episode “Six Degrees of Seperation” when she’s climbing into the Cylon Raider that is on the deck of the Galactica, to try to get it to work again.
She is 5 feet 6 1/2 inches tall.
She was involved with swimming until her knee gave her problems and she had to quit.
In the original mini-series, filmed in 2002-2003 and released December 2003, Katee Sackhoff was 23 years old. Filming for Season 3 is due to start in April 2006 in Vancouver at which time she will be 26.
She is an Aries.
Sackhoff wears a thumb ring on one of her hands. This piece of jewelry was written into the Battlestar Galactica series and is said to be Starbuck’s engagement ring from Zak Adama.

At first I refused to watch the new Battlestar Galactica because I was such a big fan of the original and Starbuck was my favorite character. I did end up watching it with my aunt and I got hooked and once againg Starbuck became my favorite character and Katee seems so nice in interviews that it would be nice to meet her
