The last time I saw Leonard Bernstein
The maestro would often come and play at Tanglewood, where alas, he conducted his final piece. May God rest his soul.
He was there on my last visit to Tanglewood. It was a magical afternoon and evening of picnicking, noshing, drinking wine, and listening to his beautiful music and commentary.
I had a loose connection with his family at one time in that my then woman-friend was his mother’s home health nurse in Newton.
Other than his music, he also wrote some great amd memorable books on the enjoyment of music. Highly recommended.
