Calista Flockhart (placeholder)

We were in Florence, in 1998, on our honeymoon, waiting in line at the Duomo (the main cathedral in town). There were a few other Americans, including one in a baseball cap and shades who looked awfully familiar. I looked twice, nudged my wife, and said, “I think that’s Calista Flockhart, you know, Ally McBeal.”

“No it’s not,” she said.

But we bumped into her inside and though she didn’t say much other than “Sorry, it’s not a great time for me to talk,” it was definitely her. I think she was filming “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”

I was with friends at a Cheesecake Factory in LA. When leaving, I was in front of my friends walking (backwards) out of the restaurant and talking to them. When I got to the street, I ran into someone. (Guess that’s why you don’t walk backwards – bound to run into someone) Instinctively, I turned around, grabbed the person by the shoulders and apologized. To my surprise, the person I was apologizing to (and had grabbed by the shoulders) was Calista Flockhart. I thought I was going to break her. In any event, I let her go and apologized again. She accepted, smiled, and was on her way. Harrison Ford, look out – she was totally into me :>
