Why I admire Judy Blume

Judy Blume is a realistic, in-your-face kind of author. She just tells it like it is, even with “touchy” or uncomfortabe subjects. When I read “Are You There God, It’s Me, Margaret”, which is about a girl going through puberty, basically, I felt so much better about myself. She proved to me that the things I was experiencing were normal.
All kids need a Judy Blume author in their life to help them find their place. Kudos to you, Ms. Blume!

A story about Judy Blume

When I read her books I feel like she’s relating directly to me. I’ve read Tiger Eyes probably 20 times and it’s just crazy how much that book applied to my life just a short time after reading it. I’ve read Summer Sisters 4 times and I find something new in myself with every page. I feel a real connection to this person because of the impact she’s made on my life from those books. They have been my friends and therapy for half my life.
