Spike Milligan (placeholder)

Terrence Milligan, aka Spike, wrote most of the Goon Show scripts – a 1950’s era radio comedy series, which in turn inspired the Monty Python series. A deeply-caring person, Spike suffered from manic depression for much of his life, aggravated by the extremem pressures of producing some of the funniest radio comedy material week after week for the BBC.

Spike recounted his WW2 experiences in a series of autobiographical books, during which time he met Peter Sellers and Harry Secombe – co-conspirators in the genesis of The Goons.
