I met James a few years ago at a show on the fourth of July in Martha’s Vineyard. I grew up listening to him and have admired him my entire life. He was really great and sweet to me and my family. My sister had written him a letter when she was around 11 years old. He wrote back to her a few days later. He really is as nice as he seems.
There was one magical moment when James Taylor performed at the Carolina Coloseum in Columbia, South Carolina – everyone there was singing along under their breath to Fire and Rain… a tremendous barely audible whisper joined in by more than a thousand non-voices… This was one of most wonderful moments I can remember.
My husband took me to see JT one early fall evening about 4 years ago and we had a beautiful evening. James sang great and he took time to talk with the audience which made it very cool.
