Why I admire Aiko Kayo 嘉陽愛子
It was love at first sight, AND of course one video that made me fall head over heels for jpop (Japanese popular) singer Aiko Kayo:
I was hooked. Aikochan has that special something, perhaps like that high school girl you had a crush on, yet something else holds you to her .. perhaps a sparkle in her eye, even when she pouts, she is so lovely, and so very cute. She has that look, that would probably bring most of her male Japanese fans to the position of “Dogeza”, literally on their knees, simply by the power of her charm and her singing voice, yet..she can’t help it. She is so natural, and talented that her charm just seems to broadcast across the distances. How popular is she? Very! Not only have the record companies scooped her up, but the commerical and modeling companies as well. People in Japan can not get enough of her. She has appeared in tv commmericals, game shows, radio interviews and in a few compilation videos with other artists,(Girls Box) especially those produced around Christmas time. Her largest hit to date is “Aishitene Motto” which translates to “Please love me”. There is also “Hitomi no Naka no Meikyuu” a wonderful video that brings out her “kawaii-ness” so much that you just wanta hug her! You know she was having amazing fun making Aishitene Motto, a little tease of a video…and yet, you can get caught up in the moment…when she does an obvious wink that tells you..”I am just a girl having fun”.
In Japanese “Dai Suki desu” is the cloest you will come to saying “I love you”…and I can’t help it…this daughter of Japan has me hook line and sinker. I have been bewitched by her magic for a long time now. Go to any video site look up her name and watch the videos, you will be captivated as well, even if the songs are in Japanese, after all Music is the Universal language and so is
charm.
