When I was 12, I used to ( and still do) suffer from insomnia. I used to wake up and turn on the tv, and wathc amc. They used to play a lot of silent films, and I saw an old horror movie (I never found out what it was), and that got me into silent film. Then, one day I was watching tv again, and I saw the biography starring Robert Downey, Jr. When I began to watch the story of this interesting person, I knew I had to see the films. Luckily, I caught “City Lights” on amc of tcm one day, and since then I have been addicted to Chaplin films.

Why I want to meet Charlie Spencer Chaplin

This is such an extraordinary man.
He was a comic genius, and he was not afraid to speak his mind often being very controversial.
He was ahead of his time, even though he may have had his flaws such as his womanising.
This was a man who was just looking for his first love.
A truly amazing man.
