I really would like to interview Ms. Walker for a play I’m writing centered around the dichotomy of the mother/daughter relationship. I have always been fascinated with the two as they are both great writers and their choice of lovers has been parallel at times in their lives.
I love her books and would like to meet her. Even though I hav enot read all of them.
She totally Inspire me,every part of me..no one elses work moves me like alice’s maybe because we share the same State as our Birthplace, but I think its simply because she’s a Pure Genius! I Just Love The lady!
Alice walker is such a real person. I realy admire her ability to address people when they need to be checked. I understand why she was not willing to give herself up, (as far as starting a family) I kind of upset how Rebecca did not understand the sacrifice she made. But with life we all learn by experience and mistakes.
She came to speak at my school (in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire) in 1994 (I think). She knew my English teacher and was on her way to North Africa to do a documentary on female circumcision. I was 13 and wanted to be a writer then. She spoke to our class and I don’t remember a thing she said. I asked a question but I don’t remember what it was. I shook her hand and introduced myself. What I do remember is that she was purposeful. I want to be purposeful.
