How I met Lance Armstrong
I was on his RAGBRAI Team LIVESTRONG this summer (2007). We met one night at the LIVESTRONG camp when he came over to hang out with the team. We spoke for a few minutes as he mingled with the team. Great guy.

A true inspiration for courage and strength!
We saw history being made when he won that 7th tour! If anyone truly deserves the yellow jersey it is Armstrong.

The man is terrific , strong , not to mention kinda cute. He’s a cancer survivor. In my experience cancer survivor’s are the most wise and beautiful people you’ll ever meet.I could use some wisdom from him!( or anyone for that matter!)
“The Lance” – Crushing, Inspiring, Gifted, Agressive, Powerful, American, and best of all…. a TEXAN!

Somehow I got onto a link and now I am up under the alternate pages for Lance Armstrong saying I think I am the same. I do not, but I didn’t know how to get out of this page or delete this.
I was a bicyclist when Lance was diagnosed with cancer. I had heard about it, but at the time just thought oh that’s too bad. I felt a little sadden by the news because cancer isn’t a good thing to have to go though. A little over a year later I was diagnosed with breast ca. I went though treatments for 9 months. I had to have a rod put in my leg at the beginning of my treatment because after some testing they found a hole in my leg. It was thought to be cancer. I was told I only had a couple of years to live. I was only 37. My son was only 13yrs. I was a single parent & needed & wanted to be there for my son. After the biopsy on the leg it wasn’t cancer. Thank God. Although I had to stop riding my bike because of this & I was pretty sick with the chemo. When I got though my treatments I studied for my nursing boards & passed. I started working as a nurse. I am working a lot. I decided to read Lance’s 1st book “It’s Not About the Bike.” It was a great inspiration to me. After reading what he went though, I realized that my cancer wasn’t as bad as some can be. My cancer has made me a better person & nurse. Now I just want to find time to get back on my bike. I would like to meet Lance because I want to thank him for making me a better person & nurse. Also for all the work he does for cancer research. My hope is not to have to work as much and to be able to get back on my bike (I am working on this). I want to do more volunteering work related to cancer.
