Feist is my hero. She’s talented, beautiful, and so intelligent. Personally, I admire her for her lyrics, they’re just so poetic.

And that voice!

I’m her fan for a long time already. I love all her songs and I wish I could meet her…

I was standing at the crosswalk of Sunset and Cahuenga a day and a half ago, fumbling with the settings of my camera (I haven’t read the instruction manual), on my way to AFI Fest, waiting for the “walk” sign to blink on, when I realized that in fluorescent lighting right before me read the words in bold black block lettering: Feist. This was Amoeba’s live performances board, which until that very moment I had apparently been oblivious or too distracted to notice. So there I was, amused, that I could meet/see/hear her.

Her voice is sugar to the ears, and this I told her over the autograph of her debut “Let It Die” album, to which she graciously smiled and said “thanks.” I didn’t tell her that I am crazy about it and have listened to it many many times (for fear of freaking her out). The forty-five minute performance rocked. After the show, she auctioned a pair of tickets for the Broken Social Scene concert and a kiss from one of the band members for which I bid ($100 to benefit Katrina victims) only to be beaten by someone else ($120). Either way, she was insanely cool and I would gladly meet her again.

Mushaboom was my favourite song of 2004. ‘Nuff said.

Her voice woke me up on KEXP several weeks ago, and I was in the best mood for the rest of the day. I’ve already purchased the only solo CD she has out, and now I want to meet this incredibly talented and melodic woman.
