Two beautiful minds in a beautiful place could create beautiful things.

A hello, smile, and nod of acknowledgment would describe my exchange with David at the Hammer. I was one of many photographers trying to capture a bit of the magic that surrounds him. He did a collaborative music performance on keyboards, screened his five-year in the making digital project “Inland Empire,” then talked and answered questions where he displayed a flair for ideas and witty sense of humor. And then he surprised us with a live performance by the Valley Girls. All in all, a great evening. Fast forward a few weeks, as if seeing him recently wasn’t enough, I have the good fortune of actually meeting him at a local bookstore’s signing for the release of the film’s dvd. He is endearing and full of good happy energy, I would gladly meet him again.

I want to meet David Lynch, because he loves my town :) I hope I meet him on the street or in the restaurant in Lodz one day (as my friend did).

Heard him speak in person at the premiere of “Inland Empire” in Seattle

I met him on the street. He was promoting Laura Dern’s performance in INLAND EMPIRE for Oscar nomination. He had a cow with him and smoked cigarettes and we spoke about music and film scores. Very nice man.

because he’s a classy man.

I got to sit in on an interview with him which will be aired next month on KLRU for Texas Monthly Talks. He was in Austin promoting his new film and book on meditation. He spoke about delving into the ocean of bliss and releasing negative energy, and his various film projects throughout the years, as well as his upcoming art exhibit in Paris for Cartier. He is very expressive with his hand gestures and is into details in being able to create cinema that is a child of intuition and feeling states. He also enjoys using music to enhance mood. One of his early inspirations was Felini and that was mine too. I was in awe sitting in on this session, as he is certainly a creative force of nature!

I’m an aspiring director and I love his style. He gets so much out of his actors and is so good at creating mood. I don’t even want to ask him about movies, I just want to go out to lunch with him.

I just want to hang out at a coffee shop and share a lunch of tuna sandwiches.
