My father-in-law met Elvis at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville and didn’t call me to run down there.

I met him about 23 years ago, around the ime Imperial Bedrom came out. He was tired out after a gig in Cardiff and not great company. But what great songs.

I HAVE MET HIM 4 TIMES AND HAVE APICTURE WITH MY BEST FRIEND THAT LIVES IN ARGENTINA AND ME. AND WE ASKED STEVE NIEVE IF ELVIS CALLS HIM ELVIS OR DECLAN?

the man and his music! I never tire of his music and his sound is so unique, especially in these days on manufactured marketing artists, his style never tires

I’d like to thank him for my co-worker. Because everytime she sees me she sings “Alison”

For years I did not understand peoples fascination with Elvis Costello. Throughout the 80’s and the burgeoning MTV years and into my college years, I just couldn’t wrap my head around the (pardon the expression) attraction. Elvis was ok. Allison was a nice song. Watching the Detectives was catchy. But I was not smitten.

And then I moved to L.A. and started working for my cousins in Malibu and started meeting all these guys who worked for production companies and going on dates with them. Now, I like dating. And it was especially fun in L.A. because you got to go to really cool places for free.

There was this group of S. African and European P.A.’s who worked on a film crew at one of the houses that we represented. And one of them, this pot-head from Cape Town asked me out on a date. I figured, what the heck. I was trapped in Malibu with no car and was 25 and bored out of my skull. So when he invited me to go see Elvis Costello, I figured it would at least be something to do.

Little did I know…that I would fall in love…that very night…
