It was at a charity thing for orangutans (seriously). I was queued up to get my friend’s book signed and he asked what I wanted him to write and I blurted out “Nothing! Just sign it!” which, my friend pointed out to me later, sounds pretty rude … and like I am just going to sell his autograph on eBay which was totally NOT going to happen!
Because of his very-inspiring books :) gotta love this man..he is clever in his own sense of wonder and imaginition.
I almost met him once at a book signing in Edinburgh – I walked throught the doors – he look at me for a brief millisecond and smiled with immense charm albeit slightly distracted by the gizillion people already there. My nerve broke (as it would when meeting a deity in the flesh) and I ran away

I met PTerry briefly at Noreascon 4 in Boston. Despite being mobbed, he was very gracious and even laughed at my weak ninja joke. Later, he signed books well past the official end of his time and on into the dinner hour for the fans who had lined up to see him. A swell dude.
He has wonderful sense of humor and he can draw such a strong female charachters in his books. His girls are no ninnies and that is cool. ;)
I love this guy! I really want to meet the man who has me snorting with laughter more times than I care to count.
Met him at a book signing in California. Very friendly and engaging, and just as funny in person as he is in his writing. Definitely one of the good guys.
