Because I just can’t get over the song title “New World Water” (pronounced “wor-ter” to rhyme with “order”). It’s so clever! I must tell everyone in the world about how clever it is.
Mos Def also reminds me of my brother, kinda. I can’t put my finger on it … it’s just one very small personality trait or mannerism that they both share, but it’s a very unique trait, so it stands out.
Me and Mr. Smith, also share same b’day, and same High School. He was far from a MOS DEF back then. He was more like a “misfit” dude you saw, wearing overall and converse (reject) sneakers, he always had his own style. We were in the performing art programs, anyone in this program, was kinda on their own program, with their own unique language,crew and style going on. So we did our own thing. And Mr. Smith, continue to do yours. As I’m about to mine. Talent Unlimited baby.

He makes good music that is real. And he can actually act, unlike other rappers. He seems like he has a good head on his shoulders, despite how often he says “nigga.”
He is an amazing artist. I saw him in concert this past spring. I cannot truly put into words the beauty of his performance. He sang, he rhymed, he mixed it up and put it into a blender. He had an 8 piece brass band, three saxophonists, a drummer, dj, keyboardist and two bass players. I have never seen a show like it and probably ever will again.
Mos Def is a real nice well educated literate well read young man I would like to meat some day.
