How I met Hillary Rodham Clinton

In the Summer of 2003 I worked at Waterstones in Piccadilly Circus, the biggest bookshop in the UK. Hillary did a signing of her memoirs there. We, the staff, lined up and shook her hand as she went to take her seat at the table (the sign above pointing to the gay/lesbian book section had been removed). She was very short, but very well presented and neat. She also looked like she’d had a lot of “work” done. Still, I got a signed copy of her book. eBay anyone?

A story about Hillary Rodham Clinton

So she went to Bowie University doing a campaign speech and after it, me and my friend, and my sister waited. We even got a picture with her too, but the zoom button was so zoomed in from taking pictures from afar of her.

I would upload it, but this computer doesn’t let me upload pictures on the internet.

A story about Hillary Rodham Clinton

I went to a rally she did the other day and got within 3 feet of her, but one of her staffers said she couldn’t sign the book I had because she hadn’t written it (even though it was her biography). So by the time the lady said that to me I had missed my chance to shake her hand and actually say hello to her. LAME.

Why I admire Hillary Rodham Clinton

I think she’s a strong independent woman who would make a very, very good president. I have read her autobiography and would love to get her autograph, or even just a photo with her. Holding thumbs for her. And no, I am not an American, so I can’t directly influence her career, however much I’d love to be able to!

Why I admire Hillary Rodham Clinton

I just have this enormous admiration for this woman. You don’t see it often in her public persona, but sometimes you see a little glimpse of this warm, funny, unspeakably smart woman. And the rest of the time she’s just this poised, rock-solid, competent person. I have the utmost respect for her, and for how she manages to get so much done in the face of open hostility.

And honestly, I have a bit of a crush on her.

A story about Hillary Rodham Clinton

When I was eight-going-on-nine, when Hillary was still the First Lady, she spoke at a Democratic convention about an hour south of my home.  I didn’t realize the significance then, but my mum told me to wave and I did, and then I got a handshake and a hug!  It was thrilling, if only I had received a photograph!  That one moment inspired my political idealism (albeit liberal green) and I think that while she is a bit loca sometimes, Hillary would be a fantabulous President.

How I met Hillary Rodham Clinton

I was front row at the most recent Clark County Democratic Party Central Committee meeting when she stopped by for a brief hello and I got to meet her and shake hands. She’s quite impressive.

Why I want to meet Hillary Rodham Clinton

Because she single handedly reversed the Republican’s opposition to fundraising restraints. Mostly because she is the only woman on earth inspiring enough to out fundraise THEM.
